Introduction

  • Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Govt. Medical College, Akola has come into existence since 2002
  • It is a comprehensive clinical service and educational department specializing in health care of women both on primary and referral basis. We provide quality clinical services in general obstetrics and gynecology, gynecologic oncology, uro gynaecology,infertility, pelvic surgeries, lapproscopic and hysteroscopic surgeries, pelvic reconstructive surgeries.
  • We are specialized in providing academic education, laproscopic and minimal invasive surgeries for most gynaecological indication and minimal invasive procedures for urinary incontinence.
  • We are providing services to women requiring high risk care and is commited to being a centre for excellence in women health care.
  • We are running specility clinics in reproductive endocrinology, colposcopy, adolescent health, cancer clinic, menopause clinic, infertility clinic.
  • We are having post graduation in obstetrics and gynecology recognized by MCI.
  • We have also affiliation of MUHS for Fellowship in High risk Obstretics.
  • We are giving care under JSSY, Rajiv Gandhi Yojna.
  • We are running MCH care programmes, Family Welfare units.
  • Trainings programmes for Public Health eg. EMOC, PPIUCD, SAB, CAC, TL Training.
  • Active participation in National Sickle cell disease programme.
  • National MMR programme.
  • Registering births online in our department.
